“Music to Feed the Spirit” with Jenny Bird

Called the “most passionate performer in the new folk genre,” Jenny’s music is about “finding melody in the silence and manifesting music to set the spirit free.” Her music will touch, transform, and inspire you to sing all the way home.

Especially for this occasion, Jenny will perform songs from many different faith traditions, singing the words of St. Teresa, Rumi, Rebbe Nachman, Thich Nhat Hanh, Martin Luther King as well as her own songs of heart awakening. There will be opportunities for the group to join in and sing along, and more opportunities to just take in the soothing sounds of a timeless performance.

About Jenny
The stage is Jenny’s second home where she’s been presenting her original songs since she was 10 years old. Professionally managed as a teenager, Jenny lived and recorded in Germany and Belgium. For the last 20 years, she’s toured widely and consistently, playing festivals and clubs across Europe, Canada, and the United States.
Jenny has also provided production assistance and vocals on dozens of recordings including Warner Brothers demos as well as writing for film and TV sound tracks. Jenny’s music has won several awards over the past few years, among them the People’s Choice Award for Best Folk Music.

Jenny raised two beautiful daughters and maintains a significant involvement with environmental and human rights issues. She is well respected in her home town of Taos, New Mexico, where she records and teaches music.
