“Music to Feed the Spirit” with Jenny Bird
Called the “most passionate performer in the new folk genre,” Jenny’s music is about “finding melody in the silence and manifesting music to set the spirit free.” Her music will touch, transform, and inspire you to sing all the way home.
Especially for this occasion, Jenny will perform songs from many different faith traditions, singing the words of St. Teresa, Rumi, Rebbe Nachman, Thich Nhat Hanh, Martin Luther King as well as her own songs of heart awakening. There will be opportunities for the group to join in and sing along, and more opportunities to just take in the soothing sounds of a timeless performance.
Jenny raised two beautiful daughters and maintains a significant involvement with environmental and human rights issues. She is well respected in her home town of Taos, New Mexico, where she records and teaches music.
Jenny’s discography includes 14 all-original recordings, which have received radio play internationally. Her recordings feature such guests as blues virtuoso Rory Block and rainbow warrior Eliza Gilkyson. She has appeared on stage with the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Sinead O’Conner, Harry Belefonte, Sheryl Crow, Blues Traveller, Donovan, Buffy St. Marie and many other folk music luminaries.
